ISU, Moroccan businessman partner on proposed international university

Indiana State University has taken its eight-year-old partnership with higher education in Morocco to a new level by signing an agreement with a leading businessman and philanthropist who envisions a new International University in Morocco. The agreement calls for Indiana State and Group Chaabi YNNA Holding to conduct an in-depth feasibility study of a not-for-profit private university mid-way between Rabat and Casablanca.

2008-2009 University Speakers Series announced

An author, a veteran broadcaster, a noted political expert and an Oscar historian will appear at Indiana State University as part of its University Speakers Series during the 2008-2009 academic year.

Three finalists named in presidential search

The ISU Board of Trustees has identified three finalists in the search for the university's 11th president. The three are David Belcher, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock; Daniel Bradley, president of Fairmont State University in Fairmont, W.Va.; and Thomas "Tim" Hynes, vice president for academic affairs at the University of West Georgia.

Business student chosen for prestigious national internship

Kelly Fortner, senior insurance and risk management major in Indiana State University's College of Business, has been awarded a prestigious summer internship by the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices.

2008-09 Gongaware Scholars named

Three incoming insurance and risk management majors in the ISU College of Business have been named as Gongaware Scholars for 2008-09. The scholarships were established in 1999 and made possible with funds from retired Conseco executive Don Gongaware and his wife Patricia.

Cherry Street Transportation Facility dedicated

Representatives from the city of Terre Haute and Indiana State University formally dedicated the Cherry Street Multi-Modal Transportation Facility Friday (May 16). Completion of the $13.4 million building is viewed as an economic development tool for the community and a catalyst for additional projects that will bring students and citizens downtown and stimulate new development.

History students discover the Middle Ages has living legacies in Indiana

Students of Steven Stofferahn taking Medieval Europe history participated in a research and service-learning project to uncover living legacies of the Middle Ages in their own backyard. The project was funded by a grant from the Center for Public Service and Community Engagement.
