Dietetics program earns maximum accreditation

The Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education has awarded re-accreditation of ISU's Coordinated Program in Dietetics for the maximum 10 years. The program, offered through the Deparment of Family and Consumer Sciences, prepares students fof careers as registered dietitians or dietetics technicians.

Active shooter workshop for administrators, first responders

Indiana State University will host "Active Shooters on Campus: Critical Strategies for Law Enforcement Officers & School Administrators," on June 5 to help prepare police and school administrators to deal with shooting incidents like the recent tragedy at Virginia Tech. The deadline to register is May 30.

Better learning through technology

Redesign of an introductory psychology class may help improve learning by incorporating the kind of technology today\\\'s students have grown up with. Indiana State is the only university in Indiana and one of approximately 60 instutitions nationwide selected to be part of the Redesign Alliance of the National Center for Academic Transformation.

Nursing graduate surprises ISU with endowment

Daniel Lucky, along with his wife, Dianna, made the 2,200 mile trip to Indiana State University so he could participate in Saturday’s Commencement ceremonies at Hulman Center.

In addition to receiving his bachelor’s degree in nursing, Lucky surprised university officials with a $25,000 gift to fund scholarships for Indiana State nursing students, with a strong preference to male students. Roughly six to seven percent of all nurses today are male. Lucky believes more men should explore a career in nursing and is willing to do his part to assist others.

Public hearing set on tuition proposal

A public hearing is schedled for 2 p.m. May 15 to receive input on propoosed increases in student tuition and mandatory fees for 2007-08 and 2008-09.

Hot Rod magazine sponsors two camperships for Youth Motorsports Camp

Hot Rod magazine publisher Jerry Pitt is so excited about what Indiana State University is doing in regard to motorsports education that he has decided to support two full-price camperships for ISU’s first Summer Youth Motorsports Camp, July 15-21. Total value of the camperships is almost $700.

Saturday is full of milestones for one ISU senior

Ryan Hobert, a senior English major from Indianapolis, has spent the last two and a half years as a member of the Army ROTC. Roughly four hours before walking across the stage at Hulman Center to receive his bachelor’s degree, he will take part in a ceremony in the College of Technology where he will be commissioned as an Army intelligence officer.
