The Rivers & Roads Artisan Trail recognizes the work of six Wabash Valley artists in a month-long exhibition that began August 1 at the Clabber Girl Art Gallery at 900 Wabash Ave.
Featured artisans include:• Mark Donham, woodwork• Dave Gahimer, turning and woodwork• Gretchen Kraut, fiber and jewelry design• Thomas Makosky, chip carving• Karen Staub, hand-woven chairs and macramé• Charles and Sue Wagoner, pottery and stoneware
The exhibition runs through Aug. 27. Viewing hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Artisan Trail will host another art exhibition this fall.
Artisan Trail members will also be participating in the Downtown Block Party in Terre Haute on Saturdayi (Aug. 23). Artisans will be set up along the Seventh Street Arts Corridor to showcase artwork and provide demonstrations.
The Rivers & Roads Artisan Trail was created in 2013 with assistance from Indiana State University\'s Rural Urban Entrepreneurship Development Institute to encourage economic development and artisan entrepreneurship in West Central Indiana. It aims to promote cultural tourism and raise awareness about the talent and availability of locally crafted products.
