Indiana State University proudly congratulates Katelynn Lam, a sophomore majoring in Political Science and Legal Studies, on being nationally recognized by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge on its 2025 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll.
This prestigious recognition honors students across the country who have worked tirelessly to institutionalize nonpartisan civic engagement and increase college student voter participation in the 2024 election. These honorees led efforts to support their peers through vital steps such as registering to vote, sharing nonpartisan resources, and ensuring all eligible students had the accurate, up-to-date information needed to cast informed ballots.
“Being recognized on the 2025 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll is such an honor,” said Lam. “This recognition motivates me to keep pursuing my dreams, work harder, and maintain active civic engagement at ISU. For the next two years that I have left at ISU, I plan to host many civically engaging events through my organizations that give back to both ISU students and the Terre Haute community.”
Lam is one of only 232 students nationwide named to this prestigious list. She currently serves as President of Indiana State University’s chapter of the American Democracy Project (ADP), President and Founder of the Asian Student Association, and Public Relations Officer for the NAACP chapter at Indiana State.
“The American Democracy Project is one of the many shining examples of experiential learning opportunities at Indiana State University, which form a core pillar of how we proactively connect our students with the communities in which they live,” said Dr. Nancy Rogers, Vice President of University Engagement. “Katelynn is deeply involved on campus and plays a key role in connecting her fellow students to invaluable civic resources. I congratulate her on this well-deserved and prestigious recognition.”
Indiana State University’s American Democracy Project is a multi-campus initiative aimed at fostering both intellectual and experiential understanding of civic engagement. Through guest speakers, expert panels, election watch parties, community service initiatives, and educational resources, ADP helps students become informed and active participants in democratic processes.
