March On! The Campaign for Indiana State University most ambitious in
University’s history
Terre Haute, Ind. (January 15, 2008)-- Providing vision and leadership for Indiana State University Foundation’s $85 million comprehensive campaign are the marching orders for the national campaign leadership team Michael J. Alley (Carmel, Ind.,) Larry and Elizabeth Boulet (Indianapolis, Ind.,) and Dr. Sheron Dailey (Terre Haute, Ind.)
Michael “Mike†Alley, chair March On! The Campaign for Indiana State University currently serves as the president of the ISU Board of Trustees. Michael has been a successful, respected member of the Indianapolis business community for many years. He is chairman of Patriot Investment, LLC, a holding company with ownership interests in Leaf Software Solutions, BioStorage Technologies, Inc. and numerous early stage start-up companies. Michael previously served as President & CEO of Fifth Third Bank, Central Indiana, an affiliate of Fifth Third Bancorp, retiring in 2002. He serves on numerous non-profit boards.
Larry and Elizabeth “Buffy†Boulet will have significant leadership roles with marketing and regional activities. Long-time supporters of ISU and the Foundation, the Boulet’s most noteworthy contribution is the establishment of the Boulet President’s Scholarship in 2003. The scholarship offers selected Indiana students a four year scholarship to prepare for a career in business. A retired partner from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Larry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the CPA Society. He advised mid-sized companies on succession and strategic planning through Boulet Consulting and serves o the Board of Directors of Bioanalytical Systems, Inc. Elizabeth is a retired marketing executive with IBM. She currently operates her own company importing European show horses. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta social sorority.
Sheron “Sherry†Dailey will focus her leadership responsibilities on the Wabash Valley and ISU community. Professor Emeritus from the communication department, Sherry served ISU from 1965-2000. She has been honored many times, including receiving ISU Foundation’s Philanthropy Award in May 2007, the President’s Medal in 1998, and the Caleb Mills Distinguished Teaching Award in 1976. The National Communication Association presented her with the Don Ecroyd Award for Outstanding Teaching in Higher Education in 1994. Sherry has served on numerous committees to benefit her community, the University, and nationally including Swope Art Museum, Art Spaces, and the Osher Institute for Lifelong Learning at ISU She is listed in Who’s Who among Women in America and Ms. Magazine Arts Directory.
“Mike, Larry, Buffy and Sherry are outstanding individuals whose exceptional talents and demonstrated leadership abilities will ensure we build long-lasting relationships for the Foundation and ISU that will set us on the right course for continued growth and success,†said Gene Crume, ISU Foundation President.
March On! The Campaign for Indiana State University is in its silent phase. The campaign is expected to go public in the fall of 2008 or spring 2009.
March On! has four areas of emphasis to support:
Student scholarships, support for teaching, support for programs and initiatives, and facilities
including the relocation of the College of Business to the former Federal Building in downtown Terre Haute, the renovation of University Hall as the new home for the College of Education, and the new student recreation center.
The name of the campaign, March On! was inspired from ISU’s fight song, March On (You Fighting Sycamores), composed in 1939 by then ISU professor of music, Joseph A. Gremelspacher.
