ISU Foundation board welcomes new members

The Indiana State University Foundation Board of Directors recently welcomed eight new members to replace those whose terms on the board had expired.

The Indiana State University Foundation Board of Directors recently welcomed eight new members to replace those whose terms on the board had expired.

"We are very excited about the new directors joining the ISU Foundation board this fall," Doug Smith, interim vice president for the Division of Development at Indiana State and CEO of the ISU Foundation. "Over the last years, they have demonstrated their philanthropic support to the university and each brings a skill set and expertise of value to the mission and work of the foundation."

Julie Baesler of Terre Haute and her family own Baesler's Market. A 1976 graduate studying vocational home economics, Baesler and her husband, Bob, have been active in community organizations and supportive of Indiana State as donors, sponsors and hosting alumni receptions. As a student, she was a cheerleader and a member of Chi Omega. Baesler is also a member of the 1865 Society.

Buffy Boulet of Indianapolis is the president of Boulet Equine Enterprises. She and her husband, Larry, were the 2003 March On! Award winners and have a President's Scholarship. She has been active at State as a donor, is member of the President's Society and regularly attends campus events and activities.

Darin Collignon of Alexandria, Va., is a retired U.S. Air Force staff officer and is now a civilian contractor with the Pentagon. Collignon is a 1990 alumnus with a degree in history. As a student, he was a part of the Cadet Group-USAF as a student. Collignon is a regular donor, a member of the President's Society and a lifetime member of the Blue Card Club.

Gordon O. Tanner of Short Hills, N.J., serves as managing director at Citigroup Global Markets in New York, N.Y. He attended State on a baseball scholarship and was a member of I-Men. He graduated in 1980 with a degree in economics. Tanner is a regular donor and a lifetime member of the Blue Card Club, Varsity Club and President's Society.

Tom Walters of Franklin, Ind., is owner/agent of Walters & Associates Insurance. He is a 1970 graduate with a degree in physical education. As a student, he participated in track and cross-country and was a member of an award-winning mile relay team, which qualified for the NCAA finals. He and his fellow teammates will be inducted into the ISU Hall of Fame in January. Walters is a regular donor, has Indiana State license plates and is a lifetime member of the Blue Card Club. He has been active in the Long Term Disability Affinity Program and is a member of the Indy Alumni Club.

Joe Evelo of Cincinnati, Ohio, is a senior investment strategist with the Evelo/Singe/Sullivan Group. He is a 1972 graduate and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. He is a past member of the College of Health and Human Services Advisory Board and was inducted into the Book & Torch Society in 2016.

Troy Helman of Terre Haute is owner-agent of Coldwell Banker Troy Helman Realtor. He is a 1984 alumnus of the Scott College of Business and was involved with ATO fraternity and athletics as a student. He is a regular donor and a member of the 1865 Society and Varsity Club.

Linda Pellegrini of Orlando, Fla., is the former owner and president of Pellegrini Homes. She is a 1971 Indiana State graduate with a degree in social studies. As a student, she was on the Hulman Student Union Board and a member of Chi Omega. She is a previous member of the ISU Foundation Board and has been on the emeritus board for the past year. She was honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award in 1997 and is also a March On! Award recipient, a member of the 1865 Society, President's Society and was part of the March On! Campaign leadership.
