Indiana State University’s eighth annual 24-hour giving day on Wednesday, April 15, raised $2,358,584 to enhance the Sycamore experience on campus and beyond, marking the most successful Give to Blue Day to date.

A total of 2,481 donors, surpassing the original goal of 2,000, from all 50 states and five countries contributed during this digitally driven fundraising event. Nearly 250 social media ambassadors, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends, shared links to give across their social platforms throughout the day.

“I want to express my gratitude to everyone who made this the most successful Give to Blue Day yet,” said Indiana State University President Mike Godard. “Whether you participated in events on campus, supported our community partners, or made a gift from near or far, your generosity is deeply appreciated. The energy on campus, across the Wabash Valley, and from coast to coast has been inspiring, and your support will create transformative opportunities for our Sycamores by enhancing an already strong educational experience. Together, we continue to demonstrate the power of the Sycamore spirit, and together, we will continue shaping the future of Indiana State University.”

Funds raised on Give to Blue Day support various programs and scholarships across Indiana State’s divisions and colleges, with donors choosing where their gifts make an impact. Sycamore Athletics topped the leaderboard in total dollars raised, breaking $1M. Followed by the Scott College of Business, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology, and the College of Health and Human Services.

“This year’s Give to Blue Day highlights the incredible spirit and generosity of our Sycamore community! With more than $2.3M raised in 24 hours from over 2,400 donors, Indiana State University continues to inspire meaningful philanthropic support from across the country and beyond while setting new fundraising records,” said Andrea Angel, Vice President of University Advancement and CEO of the Indiana State University Foundation. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who played a part in making this our most successful Give to Blue Day to date. It reflects what we can achieve together in support of our students and the continued growth of our institution.”

Various locally owned or alumni-owned community partners throughout the Wabash Valley participated in Give to Blue Day festivities by hosting special promotions, encouraging donations, and contributing a portion of sales to Indiana State.

Additional events and activities took place across campus throughout the week, including Balloon Pop, Sycamore Spritz, Cash Cab sponsored by the Indiana State University Federal Credit Union, and Donate to Dunk. The Student Philanthropy Organization hosted these events in collaboration with other student organizations to engage the campus community and educate students on the power of philanthropy.

“Each year, Give to Blue Day brings our Sycamore community together in a meaningful way and we are excited that the number of student donors doubled this year,” said Lillyan Dickerson, Student Philanthropy Organization President. “While the dollars raised are important, what stands out most is the collective support behind our students and our future. Gifts of all sizes help provide scholarships, expand career-building opportunities, and strengthen the support systems that shape the student experience. I’m proud to be part of a community that continues to show up, give back, and invest in student success.”

Next year’s Give to Blue Day is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14, 2027.
