Indiana State University has announced the Spring 2025 recipients of the Hines Memorial Medal, one of the university’s highest academic honors. The medal is awarded to students who entered Indiana State as first-time college freshmen and are graduating with the highest cumulative grade point average in their class.
“The Hines Memorial Medal recognizes not only academic excellence but the drive and determination it takes to sustain that excellence over an entire college career. These students have set themselves apart through hard work, leadership, and a clear commitment to success. We are proud to honor them and excited to see the impact they will make beyond Indiana State,” said Dr. Mike Godard, President of Indiana State University.
“These outstanding students have demonstrated academic excellence from the moment they stepped onto campus,” said Provost Christopher Olsen. “Their dedication, perseverance, and intellectual curiosity exemplify what it means to be a Sycamore. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and the bright futures ahead of them.”

The Hines Memorial Medal is named in honor of Linnaeus Hines, who served as the university’s fourth president from 1921-1933. The award reflects the university’s longstanding tradition of recognizing academic excellence and commitment to student achievement.
