TERRE HAUTE- On Tuesday, Jan. 27, an anatomic and clinical pathologist will speak at Indiana State University as part of the Biology Seminar Series: "From Molecules to Ecosystems."
Dr. Roland Kohr, Vigo County coroner and pathologist at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, will give his "Top 10 Reasons I Hate CSI," along with other information regarding his career in the forensics field. His presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. in room 12 of the Science Building. Kohr is the third guest speaker of the series.
"Dr. Kohr always provides an entertaining presentation," said Rusty Gonser, assistant professor of biology at Indiana State. "His talk will be an interesting contrast to the world of televised CSI dramas as he provides the realistic view of the science that these dramas are based. It will shed new light on the phrase ?the magic of television'."
Kohr recently was reelected to his fourth term of coroner. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine and has worked more than 30 years in the medical field.
The series, sponsored by the ISU department of biology and St. Mary-of-the-Woods College science and math department, brings in internationally recognized research scientists to speak to students and community members. For more information, visit www.indstate.edu/darwin/ or call 812-237-2501.
