Concert Band, along with ensembles, perform March 2

The Indiana State University Concert Band, along with four student chamber ensembles, will present a concert at 4 p.m. March 2 in Tilson Auditorium.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Indiana State University Concert Band, along with four student chamber ensembles, will present a concert at 4 p.m. March 2 in Tilson Auditorium.

Denes Agay’s “Five Easy Dances for Woodwind Quintet,” “Suite for Wind Instruments, Opus 57” by Charles Lefebvre, Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” and Roland Barrett’s “Graffiti” are among the works to be performed by student ensembles.

The concert band is under the direction of Dennis Ballard. Also on the podium during the concert band portion of the program will be student conductors Jason Caudill, a senior music major from Lafayette; Nicole Pace, a senior music major from Brownsburg; and David Perkins, a senior music major from Mooresville.

Among the works to be performed by the concert band are “Creed” by William Hines, Gustav Holst’s “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “Chant Rituals” by Elliot Del Borgo and Karl King’s “Bonds of Unity.”

Admission is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the concert provided by the ISU chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi band fraternity. For more information, please contact the music department at (812) 237-2772.
