Indiana State welcomes Class of 2022 Networks Scholars

Twelve incoming Indiana State University freshmen have been awarded the Networks Scholarship for 2018.

The incoming cohort of Networks Scholars are:

Alison Reece of Cambridge City, Ind., is the daughter of Joe and Dana Reece and graduated from Lincoln High School. She plans to pursue a major in marketing.

 

 

 

Faith Wheeler of Mode, Ill., is the daughter of Mike and Diane Wheeler and graduated from Shelbyville High School. She plans to pursue a major in marketing, with a minor in fashion merchandising.

 

 

 

Gabriele Burkhart of Sullivan, Ind., is the daughter of Bryan and Heidi Burkhart and graduated from Sullivan High School. She plans to pursue a major in business administration.

 

 

Jillian Allen of Teutopolis, Ill., is the daughter is Brian and Ali Bloemer and graduated from Teutopolis High School. She plans to pursue a major in marketing, with a minor in finance.

 

 

Jayda Shafer of Logansport, Ind., is the daughter of Gina Parmeter and Brian Shafer and graduated from Caston High School. She plans to pursue a major in accounting.

 

 

 

Lauren Hemmen of Teutopolis, Ill., is the daughter of Tim and Linda Hemmen and graduated from Teutopolis High School. She plans to major in accounting.

 

 

 

MaKenzie Quissell of Plymouth, Ind., is the daughter of James and Deanne Quissell and graduated from Plymouth High School. She plans to major in business administration and financial services.

 

 

Noah Heim of Jasper, Ind., is the son of Kent and Tina Heim and graduated from Jasper High School. He plans to pursue a major in finance, with an accounting minor.

 

 

Sarah Acklin of Ogden, Ill., is the daughter of Jim and Cindy Acklin and graduated from Saint Joseph-Ogden High School. She plans to pursue a major in finance, with a minor in Spanish.

 

 

Samantha Liffick of West Terre Haute is the daughter of Gwen Keller and graduated from Terre Haute West Vigo High School. She plans to pursue a major in business administration.

 

 

Tiffany Gates of Beecher City, Ill., is the daughter of Darrell and Jeanette Gates and graduated from Beecher City High School. She plans to pursue a major in marketing, with a sales minor.

 

 

Taylor Young of Jerseyville, Ill., is the daughter of Tim and Tiffany Young and graduated from Jersey Community High School. She plans to pursue degrees in accounting and finance.

 

The scholarship program was created with the generous support from the Lilly Endowment of Central Indiana and formed Networks Financial Institute in 2003. Recipients of the Networks Scholarship were selected based on high academic performance, involvement in their high school and community, demonstrated leadership potential and their desire to pursue a career in business and financial services.

Recipients of the Networks Scholarship have been presented the opportunity to be part of the prestigious Networks Professional Development Program in the Scott College of Business. The professional development program is intended to develop future leaders of the financial services and business fields by offering opportunities such as corporate mentoring, paid internships, international travel and professional conferences, and career and professional development.

There is a heavy focus on both professional and personal growth through hands-on learning, industry relationships and personalized coaching through participation in weekly educational seminars, student-led planning and execution of projects that impact the program, the university and community with events like the annual Networks Ethics Conference held at Indiana State each spring.

In addition, students who have received other full-tuition scholarships at Indiana State and are majoring in business are invited to participate. The additional incoming freshmen participants who will comprise the program's Class of 2022 are:

Anne Bowen of Terre Haute is the daughter of Bob and Lynn Bowen and graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School. She is a Gongaware Scholar and plans to pursue a degree in insurance and risk management.

Michelle Chew of Noblesville, Ind., is the daughter of Joseph and Cathy Chew and graduated from the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities High School. She is an Honors Scholar and plans to pursue a degree in accounting and finance.

Kimberly Collins of Terre Haute is the daughter of Mike and Debbie Collins and graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School. She is a President's Scholar and plans to pursue a degree in business administration, with a Spanish minor.

Stephanie Dehne of Spring Grove, Ill., is the daughter of Ed and Sladja Mitterling and graduated from Richmond-Burton High School. She is an Honors Scholar and plans to pursue a degree in insurance and risk management.

Claire Gardner of Beecher City, Ill., is the daughter of Tom and Anna Gardner and graduated from Beecher City High School. She is a Gongaware Scholar and plans to pursue a degree in financial services.

Ryan Knezevich of Downers Grove, Ill., is the son of Michael Knezevich and Barbara Friedel and graduated from Downers Grove North High School. He is an Honors Scholar and plans to pursue a degree in accounting.

Colton Romine of Atwood, Ill., is the son of Tedd and Amanda Romine and graduated from Arthur High School. He is a President's Scholar and plans to pursue a degree in business administration.
