ISU student named PE major of the year

Stanley Liponoga IV of Elkhart, is the recipient of the Outstanding Physical Education Major of the Year award from the National Association for Sport and Physical Education.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Stanley Liponoga IV of Elkhart, is the recipient of the Outstanding Physical Education Major of the Year award from the National Association for Sport and Physical Education. Liponoga is a 2006 graduate from Indiana State University.

The award is given to only one student per university with a physical education program in the United States. It recognizes the student who shows the most competency in teaching and knowledge of physical education.

Liponoga received the award during a ceremony April 27 at Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Liponoga also is a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity; the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD); the Organization for students in Physical Education (OSPE); and the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE).

Liponoga is the son of Stan and Carol Liponoga of Vonore, Tenn.
